A look at Nokia’s Entry Into The Laptop Market

Nokia has established a solid reputation in the mobile phone industry. The company is known for creating beautiful, well-designed, user-friendly and mostly affordable mobile devices because it has been in the industry long enough to know what the consumers want. As if the company’s huge success in this niche isn’t enough, it has now entered the world of mobile computers with its introduction of the “Nokia Booklet 3G”. Since Nokia makes excellent mobile phones, there’s much to expect from its much awaited entry into the mobile computer market.

The Nokia Booklet 3G promises to be a mobile computer unlike any other. Refusing the product to be referred to as a netbook, Nokia categorized the Booklet as a mini laptop. It is a very compact computer weighing in at only 1.25 kg and 19.9 mm in thickness. It comes in a slim design possessing features that somehow bears a similar resemblance to some models of their mobile phones. It comes equipped with an Atom processor, 1GB of memory, 120GB hard drive , integrated camera with microphone, SIM card slot, card reader, USB ports, HDMI port, Wi-Fi capability, 10.1 inch HD screen at 1280×720 maximum resolution, Windows 7 operating system and a whole lot of other goodies.

The best feature of this product in my humble opinion is the 16 cell Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) battery with an estimated operating time of 12 hours. Yes, that’s 12 hours of battery-powered laptop operation. Once you fully charge it, just leave the charger at home. What an amazing thing. That alone will convince me to get one for myself. Look out for the Booklet, it’s going to be a best-seller.
